Meet the Magic Gives Back Team
Rick Smith Jr.
With 3 Guinness World Records under his belt for his remarkable card throwing talents, Rick has single handedly landed himself on 26 National Television shows including, “The Tonight Show”, The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, ABC’s “Shark Tank”. Traveling the world, Rick has been very fortunate to meet some of the best entertainers in their field, which is what inspired Rick to put together this unique platform now known as “Magic Gives Back”.
Billy is no typical juggler. As a teenager he trained with the intensity of an athlete to become the best technical juggler he could. After a stint on national television including “Good Morning America”, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, and winning ABC’s “Master of Champions” showcasing his stunt juggling, Billy combined his technical abilities with his out of box thinking to develop a routine unique to him alone to create an unbelievable performance. Full of technical juggling routines and feats of balance too dangerous to try at home you’re sure to catch something you’ve never seen before.
The two-time award winning Cleveland magician, Michael Mage, is known as a comedian stuck in a magician’s shoes. His interest in magic began at the early age of 10, and since then he has made a full-time living performing it while specializing on interactive comedy entertainment.
He is a crucial part to the Magic Gives Back show and offers a comedic edge each audience can’t get enough of. We are so thankful to have on the team!
After meeting Rick at just 10 years old, Drew also acquired a huge passion for magic and performing. While he performs at around 250 different each year, he also helps behind the scenes with Magic Gives Back.
He provides consulting for MGB and creates everything from the videos, graphics and website, to overseeing the operation backstage. Drew helps to ensure a smooth and successful show for everyone involved.
No Las Vegas magic show is complete without their “lovely assistants”. Courtney has been helping Rick out for several years now and is trained to keep a secret, so don’t ask her how it’s done. When not assisting Rick, Courtney is studying hard to become a Physician’s Assistant at Cleveland State University.
Another critical part of our team, Erika loves all of the excitement that comes with performing in a magic show! When not “appearing” on stage with Rick, Erika is a full time dance and fitness instructor and also danced for Cleveland’s AFL team, The Gladiators. Her favorite part about Magic Gives Back is getting to hear the audience reactions after she performs with Rick! Look out for her in the show aiding Rick in unbelievable stage illusions!
Julian along with our talented dance crew has a passion for what they do. Dancing their entire lives, they have truly mastered their craft. You may have seen some of them performing around town for the Cleveland Cavaliers or for pre-game events for the Cleveland Indians! Combining different types of dance and abilities, these performers have created a unique involvement in the “Magic Gives Back” program.
The Magic Gives Back production could not be possible without our dedication crew lead by Brent Schmidt of B Productions. With hundreds of hours programing the show, Brent and his crew have developed a spectacular mobile show. Brent is a full time student at Berklee College of Music studying Music Business and Production and Entrepreneurship. He also works closely with Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Indians on their in game experience promo teams. Outside of his busy MGB and professional sports schedule, he is also one of the area’s premier DJs for weddings and corporate events.
